Case Overview
Pichu, a 10-year-old outdoor cat, experienced a fading appetite and difficulty chewing. When his family noticed, they knew something wasn’t right. On examination, we found severe dental disease, along with significant dehydration. Pichu needed more than just basic care.
We took him in for hospitalization, allowing our team to stabilize and monitor him closely. From there, we began planning each and every next step with his safety in mind.
Diagnosis & Decision
Blood tests revealed an unexpected result. Pichu had severe renal failure, with dangerously high toxin levels in his blood. At that point, anesthesia was no longer safe. We had to act fast.
Because the situation was critical and the prognosis was highly uncertain, we immediately shifted our focus to intensive medical treatment. Pichu’s family agreed to begin treatment.
