Why should I vaccinate my cat?

Having your cat vaccinated is an essential part of their routine care. Vaccines are key components against dangerous and often fatal illnesses with challenging diagnoses. Many of these diseases have no definitive cure, which means protection is encouraged and, in most countries, even required.

Cat vaccination in Dubai defends against highly contagious viruses, including rabies, feline parvovirus, feline calicivirus, and feline herpesvirus. By simply keeping up to date, you're keeping your cat safe, protected, and healthy.

Additionally, you can also expect lower veterinary costs, enjoy a smoother travel experience, and support public safety.

When should my cat get vaccinated?

Kittens need their first round of vaccinations at around 6-8 weeks old. This is followed by booster shots every 3-4 weeks to strengthen the initial dose, until they reach 16-20 weeks of age. Starting early guarantees advanced and effective protection, especially before they go outdoors.

After one year, they should receive an additional booster for FVRCP and rabies. Regular boosters are required for adult cats to maintain a strong immune system. These can be administered every 1-3 years, depending on lifestyle, local regulations, and travel requirements.

If your cat misses a dose, our team can easily help restart the schedule.

Do you offer home visits for cat vaccinations?

Yes, we do. Our licensed vets will visit your home, administer the required doses safely, and issue official records on the spot. Home visits are especially helpful for anxious cats.

Are there any side effects?

Some cats may experience lethargy, reduced appetite, mild fever, and swelling on the injection site. However, these are often uncommon and mild. Most resolve after 1-2 days of rest.

Can my cat get vaccinated if they’re sick?

We don't recommend having your cat vaccinated if they're sick. Vaccines work best on healthy cats, while sick ones might not respond well to the dose. Some cats may have increased side effects.

What happens if my cat misses a booster shot?

Our team will assess the situation and provide a revised vaccination schedule. Preventing delays to their schedule is essential to strengthening their immune system.

Do indoor cats need vaccines?

While they're safer from direct threats, even indoor cats might contract disease from contaminated shoes, clothes, items, and unexpected escapes. Additionally, core vaccines are required by law, even for indoor cats.

Can I vaccinate my cat myself?

It's not recommended to administer the vaccine yourself. Cat vaccinations must be administered by our licensed vets as we follow the proper procedures, know the correct dosage, and provide a checkup before and after the shot.
