How much does it cost to import a pet into Dubai?
It depends on your pet, airline, and arrival city; use the calculator above for an exact figure. As a rough guide, most single-pet imports land between 3,000 and 4,500 AED all in, covering the MOCCAE permit, customs, and our service fee.
What documents do I need to import a pet into Dubai?
A MOCCAE import permit, a vet health certificate, your pet's vaccination record, and proof of an ISO-compliant microchip. Depending on where you're travelling from, a rabies titer test may also be required.
How long does the pet import process take?
Plan for at least 4 to 6 months if a rabies titer test is needed, since that alone involves a 21-day wait after vaccination plus processing time. Without a titer test, the process moves faster, but permits and health certificates still need to be timed to your flight.
Is my pet's breed allowed to enter Dubai?
Some breeds are restricted, including Pit Bull types, several Mastiff types, Japanese Tosa, and wolf-dog hybrids. We'll confirm your specific breed before you book anything.

Only if you're coming from a country considered higher-risk for rabies, the test must be done at least 21 days after the rabies vaccination, and results are valid for 12 months.

Most pets travel as manifest cargo in a climate-controlled hold. In-cabin is limited to small pets on select Etihad routes into Abu Dhabi. Private jet arrivals skip the airline restrictions entirely, but cost more.
What happens if my import permit expires before my pet travels?
MOCCAE import permits are valid for 30 days, so if your travel date shifts and the permit lapses, you'll need to reapply. We track this for you so it doesn't happen by accident.
