A quiet struggle behind every blink. Constant irritation. Watery eyes that never seemed to clear. When Maicon’s family brought him to us, we discovered the real cause: entropion, a painful eyelid condition that required surgical correction.

Case Overview
Maicon, a sweet and gentle cat, had been showing signs of discomfort in his left eye: excessive tearing, squinting, and subtle changes that hinted towards something more serious. Upon closer examination, Dr. Salome found that the lower eyelid was rolling inward, a condition known as entropion, which was irritating the cornea with every blink.
Diagnosis & Decision
Upon Maicon’s arrival, a thorough ophthalmic examination confirmed entropion of the left lower eyelid, causing corneal irritation and epiphora (excessive tearing). Because entropion doesn’t resolve on its own and can lead to ulcers or vision loss, surgical correction was immediately recommended to restore normal eyelid position and protect the eye.
