Originally from Portugal, Dr. Mafalda earned her degrees in Agricultural and Animal Engineering and a Master’s in Veterinary Medicine. She later completed postgraduate studies in Medical Parasitology at the renowned Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in Lisbon. Her academic journey laid the foundation for a diverse career in teaching, research, and high-level clinical care.

She has lectured in veterinary neurology and angiology and is particularly skilled in internal medicine, abdominal ultrasound, and soft tissue surgery. As a former Clinical Director, she led multidisciplinary teams and developed patient-centered protocols that elevated standards of care.

As a Portuguese vet now practicing in Dubai, Dr. Mafalda brings a global perspective to her work while staying rooted in her core values of empathy, excellence, and mentorship. She is especially passionate about guiding young veterinarians and ensuring every patient receives thoughtful, evidence-based treatment.
