Moving a pet across borders is mostly paperwork, timing, and logistics. We handle all of it under one roof, from vaccinations and permits through to the crate and the flight, so nothing gets missed and nothing gets outsourced.

Start earlier than you think

The most common mistake is leaving it late. Some destinations need work started months before you fly.

4 to 7 months out

Rabies titer countries

The UK, EU, and Australia require a blood test taken after vaccination, then a waiting period before entry. This is the long pole, and it can't be rushed.

2 to 3 months out

Permits and paperwork

Permits and paperwork Import permits, export permits, and destination-specific documentation. We start these as soon as your travel dates are confirmed.

1 month out

Crate and flight

Crate sizing and acclimatisation, cargo booking, and confirming your receiving agent at the other end.

Final 10 days

Health certificate

Most countries require the certificate to be issued within a set window before departure. We time this to your flight.

If you're moving to the UK, EU, or Australia, speak to us before you book anything else. The titer test and waiting period set the earliest date your pet can travel, and everything else is planned backwards from it.

Why do it through us

One

Everything under one roof

Vaccinations, microchipping, titer testing, permits, crate prep, and cargo booking all happen through our own team. No handing your pet's move off to a third party partway through.

Two

Our own laboratory

Samples are handled in-house, so we control turnaround and can tell you exactly where a test is, rather than waiting on an external lab.

Three

Your vet knows your pet

Nervous flyer, senior, snub-nosed breed, existing condition. The person signing the certificate is the person who actually examines them.

Four

Care at both ends

A pre-travel health check before you go, and a settling-in check afterwards for pets arriving in Dubai.

Everything You Need to Know

Questions? We're here to help

How far in advance should I contact you?

As soon as you know you're moving. For most destinations, two to three months is workable. For the UK, EU, and Australia, plan for four to seven months because of the rabies titer test and the waiting period that follows it.

What does it cost?

It depends on the destination, whether a titer test is needed, and your pet's size and breed. Once we know where you're headed and roughly when, we'll send a full cost breakdown before anything is booked.

Do you handle the whole move, or only the veterinary side?

The whole move. Vaccinations, testing, permits, crate preparation, and cargo booking are all handled by our own team, so you're not juggling a vet and a separate logistics company.

Can my pet travel in the cabin?

Usually not. Most airlines flying in or out of Dubai, including Emirates, carry pets as cargo or checked baggage in a climate-controlled hold rather than in the cabin. A small number of airlines allow small pets in the cabin on certain routes, and we'll tell you if that's an option once we know your airline and destination.

My pet is nervous. Should they be sedated?

No. Sedation is generally not recommended, and most airlines don't allow it, since it can affect breathing and the body's ability to regulate temperature at altitude. We'll instead walk you through crate acclimatisation and, if needed, other safe ways to keep them calm for flying.

Is my breed allowed to fly?

Snub-nosed (brachycephalic) breeds, like pugs, bulldogs, and Persian cats, face extra restrictions or outright bans with some airlines, especially in summer heat. We'll check your specific breed against your airline and route during your first consultation.

I'm arriving in Dubai. What do I do first?

Book your MOCCAE import permit as soon as your flight is confirmed. It's only valid for 30 days, so applying too early or too late can cause problems either way. We'll talk you through the timing on your first call.
